NATURE OF THE WORK-

  • Regulates adn keeps in mind all the legal activities undertaken by the bank
  • Help and guide all the work to be undertaken by the bank as per the laws, rules and regulations framed by the government.
  • To render legal guidance as required by the bank in the form of legal opinions, studies and reports etc.
  • To provide legal advice to the staff members of the bank.
  • To ensure the legality of the contracts entered into or signed by the bank with individuals, companies, organizations, enterprises etc.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

Nationality - The candidates should be either-

  1. A resident of India; or
  2. A subject of Nepal; or
  3. A subject of Bhutan; or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before Jan 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
  5. A subject of India who migrated from Pakistan, Nepal, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Kenya, united republic to Tanzania, Namibia, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire adn Vietnam.

Age-    Minimum - 20 yrs, Maximum - 30 yrs

However category - wise age relaxation is allowed to candidates belonging to reserved category (as provided in the official notification released).

Educational Qualifications - for the post of Law Officer - The candidate must be

  1. A law graduate i.e. must have a bachelor degree in Law i.e. LL.B.
  2. Must be enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council

STAGES OF THE EXAM- Three stages namely:

  1. Preliminary
  2. Mains
  3. Interview

EXAMINATION PATTERN -

  • Both Prelims and Mains are objective type exams.
  • Separate sectional time duration allotted for each section in the preliminary exam i.e. 40 mins each making a total of 120 mins.
  • Negative marking exists for both prelims and mains exam. One fourth of negative marks shall be deducted for each wrong question marked out of the total marks alloted.
  • Prelims exam is only qualifying. The candidates to get eligible to appear for the mains shall exam and the interview.
  • For mains exam questions will be asked from professional knowledge.
